To restore them for historical reason is one.
But CR could restore WCMX and WCG2s as WASMX and WAS2 (for shunting duties)
I will be happy to see the AC machinary fitted WCG2 (now WAS2) and may be painted tiger faced, hauling rakes around BBVT / BCT area.

Sometime back when ER started usage of 3000 volts DC,twelve DC electric locos of EM 2 Class were obtained from English Electric/ Vulcan Foundry. These were re-wired for CR's 1500 volts system, and sent to Mumbai area, where they worked for years ( BBVT-PA/ IGP sections ).I saw one at BBVT in 1998,and I was amazed that it featured push-button pantograph handling. These were of full 3600 hp like EM 1s ( WCM 1s ) and Hitachi built EM 3s ( WCM 3s ).

Vivek, I agree with you. I wish they had converted these beauties to pure AC locos just like WCM6 is done.
