I hope they have that signboard in hindi too.At least they are making an attempt to keep the metro clean. And if this doesnt work then there is always the policeman near the entrance.

You were lucky. When I took picture at same station, I was told that photography is prohibited.

It seems all Government property is off-limits for camera.

I don't care about the mishaps as much as I care about the discontinuation. Engineering disasters do happen, but thats how we all learn.

I find a slight difference in the catenary mast. Just for the component used to suspsend the contact wire. There is a bend in it which i have not seen anywhere on IR.

Why "Welcome"? Is it because they couldn't find another suitable name for the station?

Neil, BEML is Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. which is a heavy engineering industry that is alreadt into railway business. This is a mockup of the Skybus, there are sadly no working models anywhere. A working track is planned between Panaji and Mapusa in Goa.

Apurva/Neil:

These two skybus units are working units, not just mockups. At the time the photo was taken there was only this much track (seen here) and hence obviously they could not be run. Now, a 1.6kms long test track is being constructed in Madgaon (scheduled for completion in April 2004) and these same prototypes will be run on this test tracks.

See http://www.sky-bus-metro.com for more details and pictures.
