Great album. Each picture is a gem and very unique. The whole of KR is one masterpiece and a great location for rail photography, as is evident from the numerous wonderful albums of this section. Superb effort!!

I have nothing more to say - fifteen other rail fans have already commented on this album and I agree with them all.

Great effort by Appu, Lalam and Sachin who have gone to great lengths and heights to enjoy the beauty of the coastal areas of north Karnataka and the Konkan railway. Thanks to the trio for sharing the lovely pictures.

Great sir. very nice to see the entire location from great angles..( as i am used to see the area in a fixed angle everyday..) my heartiest congratulations to the team.

Take a bow, Sirs! Thank you for your efforts in presenting these gems!!

It is a matter of pride for me to say I hail from that area - ancestrally. And also a matter of eternal regret that the last time I visited that area was in 1975!

Note to self: Remember what you are missing!

To Lalam, Sachin and Apurva: No adjective is appropriate to describe these pictures and the effort you put in to capture them. To think that you climbed hills and descended below track level to snap some of these pictures shows dedication of the highest order.

Thank you very much gentlemen!

Absolutely amazing and superb stuff... hats off to the efforts.. Passing through the stretch, I never realised that from another angle, things can be so breathtaking! Congatulations to the three brave men!

First class stuff...the effort you 3 put in shows in the pictures...thanks for this treat!

Yes, like Uttam says, this is where our ancestors came from. There were no trains or highways in those days, and a journey from Mangalore to Honnavar (3 - 4 hours today) used to take upto 2 days with many river crossings on ramshackle ferry boats. Not much of education or job opportunities too, though the land was rich; so they migrated to the big cities - Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Dharwad. Thanks Apu, Sachin and Lalaam for the journey into the lands of my ancestors.

Magical album. Made me relive the days, when I made a trip to the region in December 2003. The only dampener was that, it was a road trip. I had resolved to come back through the KR, a resolution which has now become even more stronger, thanks to this album!
