From commercial point of view, WAP-4 has been in service longer than WAP-5, 7. Hence WAP-4 titled as "old boy".

Really a great sight to keep in memory. And Jagan, blue locos are there, but IR is not going to run those super coloured rakes for Jnaneswari any more.....
But Alok, are you sure the snap is of July2003? If I am not wrong IR started adding SL in 2301 from Feb2003 and at that time only they changed the good old rakes....Please confirm if I am wrong.

strangely enough, we still mention the WAP5 as the 'new' kid whereas it is almost as old as the WAP4!! Note the solid yellow bands of the WAP1/4 instead of the normal cream.

The WAM4 6P provides power both ways???. Does it have a loco change somewhere, or in betwee trips?

So in one direction, it would have a WAM4 6P trailing??? any particular reason for such a uniqueness?
