Hello Neil, No the locos do not run. I thought of making that possible but again could not :-( I sure didn't document the building procedure. At that time my only aim was to have a real life model in front of my eyes so that I dont have to go train spotting often ! however I will definitely help anyone interested in such projects ! Trains are my fantasy :-)

Kharad, It took me around one week to build this WCAM3 model (roughly 3 hrs per day). Additional time to paint it. More minute details would increase build time. Raw materials used : hard Cardboard, thermocole, carrom coins(wheels), good sturdy broomsticks (wheel assembly/pantograph), light bulbs, LED's , battery & paint :-). Good luck with your project !

This is definitely for the showcase! What more could a railfan ask for? A lovely winter morning, a lovely curve (railway), a train with some special status attached to it, the approaching ghats. Man! this has all the elements!

The small one is indeed junior officers' saloon and I have travelled on it on a couple of occasions as a child with my Dad who was medical officer in this railway. The one at the right is the General manager and Chief Engineer's saloon.
Thanks a lot David!!

Is this a working loco or a model?

Excellent work, Nikhil! I presume the locos do not run...if you've made step by step instructions on building this loco, you can post it (or sell?) it to enthusiasts.

Nice work...love that loco. How long does it take on an average to make a model??? I wanna make a WCAM3 model in the current livery. Also, what are the materials i'd require.
