Container derailment near Asavali on Central Railway near Igatpuri.
Great coverage. One must also appreciate the way railways has mobilized resources to normalize operations. I was also impressed to see the condition of crane, jacks and other equipments maintained so properly.

This arrangement is called synchronized jacks. The yellow items of top left are jacks (the protruding black parts are cylinders that move up). the panel on right is oil controlling valve chest with hand operated levers to operate the valves (Rectangular blocks) . the ports on side of panel are quick disconnect coupling that connect hose from panel to jacks and supply high pressure oil. One thing missing in this pic is an Oil reservoir and pump that pressurizes the oil to move jacks.

Great coverage guys! Thankfully CR could route the Up traffic through the Dn line as the tracks are separated.

We can see the flood lights set up along the accident site - to enable round the clock recovery operations.

This is a 140 ton Gottwald breakdown cranes - the largest on Indian Railway. Originally six were ordered - how many are there on the network now?
