Note the airconditioner on top of the cab. Subbu commented that this loco (waiting at SBC with outbound Rani Chennama Exp a few days back) sounds quite different from the other WDP 4s.

More on the design, the curvy nose does not seem to really fit in with the sharp edges and angular faces that the rest of the loco body has. Lets hope they did better with the interals ;-).

While the loco does look interesting in this photo, I don't really understand the neccesity of redesigning the nose of the cab on the windscreen side. The color combo could have been better but this will do for innovative stuff from IR for now

it was in the 11th march TOI, and i guess it was in all the editions. it's darkened top&left sides are a result of tape. i've taped it on to my clipboard along with two of Vikas's fab pics

16669 is now with KJM. Don't know where it was at the time of this incident. Probably ED. But is this loco really off the track? Or has it brought in the steam crane?

Major accidents in Kerala involving a train slipping of the bridge: 1. Island Exp fell into the Perumon bridge. Cause - Unknown (some say a freak tornado) 2. Mangalore mail slipping off the Kadalundi bridge. Cause - the bridge was more than 100 years old. This photo decipts none of these. Anil, can you give me the date of the accident??
