These are BCCNR wagons. They have a carrying capacity of just 10 tonnes. Most likely used for transport of cars. Funnily, they have a speed limit of just 65 kmph! The tare weight of this wagon is 28.5 tonnes.

Hello,A very rare slide, but I would have loved to see the axle boxes squarish and not ver "modern" in a round shape...BPTR,in Mumbai has some very vintage 4-wheeled goods wagons with spoked wheels

Jimmy - can you get pics of the wheels, axle boxes and the brake rigging ? While you are at it, could you go under the wagon and get a few shots from that perspective ?

Jimmy, It does look like this wagon is abandoned or out of commision. Notice the two wedges have been permanantly welded to the rails so that this wagon does't go anywhere :-) The corrugated vaccum pipe can be clearly seen.

I think the roof is original all right. I have seen many wagons with similar roofs being used as store sheds on the NR, sometimes with just the grounded body remaining. I suppose they should be of similar vintage as DHR corrugated-roof freight stock, from around 1910 or so.

these are wagons either loaded and going to SBC to refill the tanks or empty ones returning.
