I too saw many MG wagons at Vellore when I visited in during Dec last year. I think the MG line from Vellore to Katpadi no longer runs

John Lacey tells me this is a special vehicle used either for passengers in times of heavy traffic, or as a goods van. Built for the Barsi Light Railway in the 1920s. interesting that it was still available for service as late as 1981.

ROH must be Regular Overhaul like POH AOH etc ,TNPM is Tondiarpet marshalling yard which i suppose has a frieght wagon overhaul depoy

this brake van doesn't serve any imp. purpose except making the axle counter mechanism present at the stations quite ambiguos
