Igatpuri is the station where DC traction gives way to AC traction (and vice versa). The Pushpak Exp. came in with a DC loco - WCM5 - which was detached here. Then, an AC loco - WAM4 - took over.

That is not a metre gauge YG but a narrow gauge CC class locomotive. CC 677.

Pal u have brought back the memories of the most exotic trip in irfca called Satpura oddessey. the trip was conducted to cover most of the NG Region . Jabalpur-gondia, gondia-nainpur. Nainpur-mandla fort, Nainpur-Nagpur and the best part was to see 3 ZDM,s pulling a coal laden freight train to some thermal power station near NGP

Ah, must add another interesting bit of info that I remembered. In those days, the tickets for Rajdhanis used to be printed in something akin to an airline ticket today - thin paper, cover jacket with instructions written on them et al. I remember vividly because I used to collect train tickets (the old small card tickets), and I used to be very disappointed when we travelled by Rajdhani because I did not get those card tickets!

The HWH Raj via Gaya ran on double diesel (both carrying the same Rajdhani livery) even in 1986. I remember that the lead loco even carried a name plate bearing the train name.

As a kid, I saw the WCM-5 as a 'cat' and the monster WCM-1 as a 'huge dog' what with their muzzle-like noses. I still recall the earth-shaking vibrations they used to cause when leading a train into Dadar. Pity, they are gone, never to be seen again.

I remember visiting the ZTS (Zonal Training School) with my dad, who was a personnel officer in CR. There was this huge model set in the middle of the room with blocks, points and signals; as a kid it was quite awesome. I'm sure it would be still awesome to me and all other rail nuts.
