What are the diagonal white and red stripes on the front of the loco ? Are they indicative of some feature or are just for cosmetic looks ?
I have seen similar red and white stripes on disel locos in the United States. Here the stripes formed an inverted V shape on the front of the loco.

i was standing abt 5-7 feet away from the point on the loop line . the driver was pointing to get off the line, in case of a fault with the point

18707R is a RTM WDM-3A. 17323 is an ABR WDM-2A.
