Yes absolutely Ashish, these are the same locos which were previously at KYN yard, and now are at the LNL UP yard outside the C&W workshop.

I wonder whether this could be brought back to life. By looking at the state in which the loco is, it should not be difficult do restore this loco.

Is this the same loco that's been rotting away at Pune yard since '96?? I remember seeing one as long back as then, placed near the WDS4 trip shed.

This locomotive was based at Castle Rock shed and was meant only for working on the ghat section(Braganza ghats).
Drivers and firemen who worked in this very locomotive are still serving the railways.

But it was based for most, if not all, of its life at Kurdavadi (KWV) if I'm reading the number correctly as 724.
