is a link to the picture around inauguration of Tilak Bridge on 1975.04.14. New Yamuna railway bridge was built at the same time and line from Sahibabad to New Delhi was electrified on 1977.01.07. In the picture the bridge in the background is on the Ring Road between Srinivas Puri and Ashram Chowk. Both this and Mathura Road bridge on the triangular trackage in the area existed in 1970 (as did the Sarai Rohilla bridge) as seen on a map with me.
Before New Yamuna railway bridge near ITO was constructed, all eastbound trains including those that originated from New Delhi used to go through Delhi Jn.

Wow!Very nicely shot image. An ideal shot to display the majesty of this loco even past it's prime

This is the same one earlier used to be in NGC shed. This was in fact used for Brahmaputra by Steam run from GHY to Pandu ghat. I just wonder why they have plinthed this loco which is still in working condition. It could be used for special runs.

It is a very nice picture and a lot of effort has gone into restoration and plinthing of this locomotive. Unfortunately, in the end, it does not look anything like a MAWD locomotive. All they needed was to look at a few pictures of these locomotives when in service. IRFCA Gallery to start with…

Lovely! Am so glad they've preserved an MAWD. I wonder if this is the same one that was standing at New Guwahati yard for the longest time? Tks for sharing.

Thanks Shashank. Surprisingly it came well with hand-held shooting.
