If one looks carefully, one can find a second bridge right beside the arch-span one. This one is more than 100 years old built of stone by Sir Arthur Cotton. The Railways found it unsafe and abandoned it for the new one, though it stood strong and sturdy till date. Talk of preservation, the localite srefused to let the bridge be dismantled by the railways due to its heritage value.
