Solid gold!!! Are these tickets in your possession or are they displayed somewhere? It is quite possible that these might be the first ever tickets issued on the line.

I'm no expert on tickets but is there any possibility that, being numbered 0000, these might be the first tickets issued on the new line? There is no date stamp actually on the tickets.

Something wrong here-the Frontier Mail would not pass Chalisgaon as it always used the WR route rather than CR.(Verified from 1944 Bradshaw).

Forgot to mention that the latter ticket was for the Matara-Trincomalee express which seems to have the longest run of any Sri Lankan passenger service. The trip takes about 16 hours.

Esplanade and Bhowanipur section (Phase 1) was commissioned on Oct 24, 1984.

The trend of using destination plate are still in used as seen on the loco.
