My name is Davis Shryer. I was with the United States Army in Ledo , Assam in 1945-46. It was fascinating to find these photos of the area on your website.

None of todays maps of India or Assam even acknowledge that the town of Ledo still exists. In fact very few Americans, today, realize that there were several hundred thousand of us in Assam at that time. Nor do they understand why we were there.

As a friend of mine, recently deceased, once said. "So it goes".

Hey Chris...Am very excited to hear from someone ie you who was in the NCAC(think thats what you guys called it then during WWII). I know where you are coming from..am from the area around Ledo(though I stay in New Delhi the capital.

Well sadly for Ledo its still in the locked up corner of India's Northeast. But maybe it might interest you but much of the area I suspect still looks like when you guys were here almost over 60 years ago.

Cheers!
