For many years, I used to wonder why WCAMx locos didn't go beyond IGP/MMR (unlike their WR counterparts that went right till ADI). And now, that has happened! When will see a green-gold GR hauled by this loco?

A few decades back the Vidarbh used to get the WCAM3 right up to NGP.

On an adventure in deep AC territory! Good catch!

Great catch Zubin. Proud moment for a WCAM3. WCAM3 with 5000hp continuous in AC traction is peanuts for hauling a 12 coach load.

The most logical explanation would be that the rake started off with a Diesel. But mid way an electric had to be attached to get the job done. Had the Diesel been leading it could have been the otherway around.

Deepak, that woud be 7700 HP. The WCAG1 churns out 4600 HP in DC and 5000 in AC.
