I second Sachin, an excelent photo! Surprised you managed to freeze motion horizontal to the camera at just 1/317 sec. I would have normally expected to be higher!

If this station is Maddur , then I would say certainly around 80kmph.

First I thought this was Goa or some place in the morning! I used to railfan with my father at a "phatak" in Patiala close to the station in early 80s, don't remember the number. Is this "phatak" close to station?

It doesn't seems like doing 90+kmph. Probably not more than 60 kmph. Notice the people standing on the platform.

Sachin...This is the Bhatinda-patiala line.....exact locatiion is "21 no. phatak" patiala.
nope, this ain't sepia mode....it's actually an "old Photography" filter ... you might find it in photoshop, i'm not sure...

Empty rake of shatabdi express rolled down the grade from KLK and ran for 10-12 kms. Then a catch siding was built at KLK (about 650 m from the 8 kmph board visible in this pic in 2001 by yours truly.
