I initially thought the loco was a WDP4. Are these changes done by loco sheds, or are they done by DLW?

Maybe I have not paid much attention, but this is the first time I am seeing a protective grill in front of a WDM3A's (or WDM2) window.

I have a query. The hill seems to terminate just a little left visible in the picture. Why couldn't engineers align the track a little left and avoid this cutting?

Looks like the WDM-3D is also from GY and still on freight trials as this duo is in all probability moving toward BYPM from SGT.
