Single Line BG between Madurai & Dindigul. The MG Line which runs parallel to the BG Line, takes a straight route, while this line curves thru valleys and gorges

The rails kept between the two lines are 60kg rails meant for replacing the line on the left. The track on the left is 52 kg track and the one on the right is 60 kg track!

Those sheds you see in the back ground with locos in it were was the Steam Loco Shed of VSKP. They are at the norhern end of VSKP station. VSKP, at one time homed all the three types of locos: Steam, Diesel and Electric. Today, only diesel and electric sheds remain.

Noticed the headlight change (livery chage as well), in the picture taken in 2000 at Madras it is showing single beam headlight and in this photo it has a double beam headlight. Same holds true for WAP4 # 22217 (in the two photos mentioned in above comment) as well.

Why did I not become a serious rail fan when I used to live close to this place???

This seems a little weird. Should'nt the train be running on the left line instead of the right? Or is this a section where they send trains in both directions on the same line?
