The cutting in the view has a perennial natural spring with sweet tasting water. The gangmen on duty told us that this was the only source of potable water on this line between this location (which is nearly the top of the ghat) and all the way to Shindwane.

This had confused me during my first visit to the city. My Ranakpur Express suddenly pulled into this station before time and to confirm if this is the REAL Jodhpur or a small namesake town, I asked co-passengers if this is indeed "THE JODHPUR JUNCTION" and they gave me a blank stare! Later I realized it is NOT a "junction".

Great, the graduated filter adds drama, and I particularly love how you can see more of the train in the background! :-)
