I have noticed that drivers cut off power & notch down to zero when a DM2 enters a tunnel. To prevent smoke from throttleing the passengers in the trailing train I belive . ;-))

Dear Anil, I have no idea. Island express derailed in 1987 and this is defenitely not this train. The loco number is 16669, made sometimes in middle of 1990's. Shall get back to you soon if I can find a clue...

I think the roof is original all right. I have seen many wagons with similar roofs being used as store sheds on the NR, sometimes with just the grounded body remaining. I suppose they should be of similar vintage as DHR corrugated-roof freight stock, from around 1910 or so.

there were similar paper cut-outs of the Dual WDM2-headed Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Exp, and about the service on the Deccan Queen, that showed the Deccan Queen coming out of the Parsik Tunnel behind a WCM4 loco. Where can i find those articles?
