Nice to see this connectivity option being used to avoid a reversal at MMR. This is possible only because of a crossover at Ankai laid a few years back.

The only picture on the server showing the 'tower' of the Diesel Electric Tower Car (DETC) in the raised position. AFAIK, this hydraulically operated platform can also swing onto the adjacent line to work on that track's OHE.

Indrayani would be the train, because of its KYN link. MMR-Pune has a Pune loco, and besides too early for either MMR-Pune or Koyna. Ideal time would be for IC running about 10 mins late - but behind a diesel??

From the location, it seems as though they've left the trip shed and our going down the ghats using the Up line.

Chaitanya, Carl is from UK and hence his camera clock is set as per GTM which is 5.5 hours behind IST. Hence this is around 0850 hrs Indian time.

Very beautiful shot ! Is the EXIF wrong ? Which is this train ? I suppose it to be Indrayani , MMR-Pune or Koyna Express as the Sunlight on the loco indicates its morning action.
