The concerned sheds and workshops have no doubt done a good job. But frankly, of what use are these beauty contests? Are the improvements showcased in these contests ever implemented in other locos & coaches? Forget about others. Are the facilities on these locos and coaches going to be maintained well? For example, for how long will the windscreen washer be functional? Will it be ensured that there is enough water in the reservoir at all times?

These were the most silent fans i've ever heard.

Auto-cutoff: when water level reaches the Danger-mark, there will be an audible warning, the prime-mover will be shut down and the loco will come to a stop.

Its about time this comes as a standard feature on all our locomotives. Will be better if they can include a heater too.

I loved the wind screen washer idea but it needs a modern unit. The fluid top up could have been kept inside. The existing device looks like a steam locomotive whistle.
