Why can't they transport it by a flat bed goods wagon? Wasting a whole 7 days for shipping is a waste.

The stick is used to raise the electrical wires (of electricy board), if the wires cross over the road while the truck has to pass by.

Most likely reasons are security concerns.
Any bomb exploding under the wheels in LHF mode, or collision with logs placed on tracks, the Loco Pilots are comparatively safer. Dinesh Hukmani

I was aboard the DQ that day. Ashish joined me till MHC from LNL. The diesel gave way to the WCAM3 at LNL. Shall be posting the info on the forum.
