Wow! I am speechless looking at these photographs. 1960s to 2012, more than 50 years have passed. I can relate to these pictures, because they depict railways I grew up watching, the WG steam locomotive, the 'C' wagon, the four wheeled box car, semaphore signals etc. The only thing that has remained unchanged, is sadly the images of laborers, same hard working, toiling people earning bare minimum wages. Hardly anything has changed for these citizens of our country, a sad reminder to our so-called "progress".

Thanks a lot. My dad took training in this company during 1960's. He was a metallurgical engineer from BHU, Varanasi. He had training in many prestigious companies in India as well as abroad. He was sent for training in this Company by the company where he worked, Aluminum Industries Ltd (ALIND), Hyderabad and Hirakud. Probably he knew the persons in the picture

This is the view north out of the BFL plot, hence this train is facing west, i.e. towards Pune.

Great album.
This
is the aerial view of the area. The railway spur into BFL is located at the North East corner, at the '+' of the cursor.

Also, design and bogies of both passenger coaches are different from the usual ICF stock. I spotted many coaches of both genre till early 90s.

Is this the same goods shed between the SER and ER parts of HWH Terminus? And I guess the FoB passes just anterior to the photographer's position.

Its 1928 view, however the current look including new complex is looking somewhat similar to that (1928).

Classic! If only those columns had been preserved.

I always think of it as a mini Sydney Harbour bridge, complementing the more famous Howrah bridge.
