What a waste. Half of both the motor coaches are gobbled up by the engines. Why not modify a trailer coach to have a driving cab? The motor coaches are heavy and consume more fuel too.

DMUs have now started to replace traditional WDM powered rakes along this line. Very scenic route with banana and coconut plantations along the tracks on one side and the Kaveri on the other.

Only the driving cabs are AC, the passenger coaches have regular seating accomodation

The mysterious vertical item in front of the white speedometer is the microphone for the announcement system.

It happens only in India...a cycle rickshaw poses next to a hi-tech looking train :o) This DMU reminds me of the world's fastest DMU, the Intercity 125 trains of UK
