What a lovely album. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

This NG route runs through a totally different landscape as compared to Dabhoi area. The Bilimora - Waghai line passes through much more fertile areas, giving way to dense forests on the lower slopes of the Dangs mountains.

I thought it was clarified that this is NOT the picture of the first train. That one was hauled by 3 locos. This is merely the "oldest" available picture of a train in India.

Are you sure it is Pratapnagar which was earlier Goya Gate? Both Samit's atlas and Ajai Banerji's article in the FAQ mention it as Vishwamitri.

Goya Gate station was renamed as Vishwamitri. It is the next station after Pratapnagar towards BRC (BG) and Jambusar (NG)and is famous for its two - level PF with the NG at a lower level and BG on a higher level.

The very mention of the name Chhota Udepur sends shivers down my spine, because it reminds of the harsh reality that the Mumbai Vadodara Express will be extended to this place any moment now.

I think there is a photograph of this actual "Bullock cart train" somewhere. VSP cannot object to the use of the term here.

Sorry again, my mistake. BG services are running from Dabhoi to Pratapnagar, but not to Vadodara. This Pratapnagar - BRC line would pass the quaint NG station at Vishwamitri and then join the main Bombay - Baroda line.

I would love to have an old railway line as a fence.
