Outstanding! I hope you guys are planning a monsoon trip at this location and treat us with some more photos like these ones. Being far away from India and being a fan of IR is painful but thanks to fellow IR fans for these priceless treats.

Simply mavelous. Excellent photo. Great landscape with a train on the bridge. If only the Pune gang had done this trip some six months ago, we could have had an IRFCA calendar for 2009 with the theme of Trains on Bridges consisting of 12 photos from Konkan Railway !!!

The base (foundation) is solid RCC. The superstructure is hollow - to save on steel and concrete. The pipe seen in the picture is for draining out rain water to avoid any stagnation of water in the hollow section.
