Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! This was the last WP steam locomotive I saw in action (Rehmat), way back in March 1994 at Nazibabad junction, hauling an early morning passenger train to Moradabad or Bijnor. I always wanted to know what became of this locomotive and even posted a query (In Search of Rehmat) in the IRFCA Yahoogroup Mailing List way back February 13th 2008 ( I just checked it). Wow, looks like it was just yesterday when almost 19 years have passed away since I saw it for the first and the last time!! I owe you a million thank yous Mr. M. Kißler.

Do water columns (though defunct) still exist on IR?

Luck are these gentlemen, who had the pleasure of working on a steam locomotive.

Even though they (steam locomotives) looked weary, rundown and decrepit; they exuded elegance, perseverance and sheer raw strength.

King of the broad gauge steam will always be the WG locomotive! Sadly, I have seen only a few instances of WGs hauling freight trains. By the late 80s they were reduced to doing menial jobs like shunting and hauling passenger trains.
