Why such a long platform? Some long trains have a stoppage here? How many coaches in the train in picture? The station name end board doesn't seem to be present on the far end of this platform

Unique in India perhaps, but there are a couple of places such as Belonia and Hili where the town is in India and the station is in Bangladesh.

Indeed, the escalators at New Delhi were inaugurated with great publicity by the then Railway Minister R.V. Paswan sometime in the late 90s. They don't seem to work most of the time

it was the best for 2 reasons,these 2 folks were poor in money but not in sprit,and their happiness and cheer when i took their snap,made me so happy.It was so good to see somebody have so little and yet have so much...this was the crowning moment at WL so to speak

I assume that the train coming in the distance is the CSTM-bound Mandovi led by a WDP-4 while the one waiting on platform #2 is the MAO-bound Konkan Kanya.

Apart from that it is narrow also. I do not think 2 buses/trucks cannot cross at a same time. However, many many thanks for these pictures.
