Madras - Colombo via Tuticorin Abstract, 1931
Messrs. Mackinon Mackenzie & Co. are the same company which built the bridge over the Ghagra at Chhapra (Inchcape bridge), which Samar had recently mentioned about.

Madras - Colombo via Tuticorin Abstract, 1931
There are multiple trains, all providing connections to the 7 Dn., which goes via Trichinopoly - Karaikkudi - Manamadurai - Dhanushkodi. Could there have been slip coaches between Madras and Tuticorin? And don't miss the race segregation policies of the time.

At that time the Punjab Mail of today was called the Bombay-Ferozepore Express. So the two Punjab Mails did not co-exist (from 1943 Bradshaw).

Also Bombay mail and Frontier mail did not have and even till now do not have a common path or point anywhere in their run.

Samar, thanks for posting such a treasure!
Karan, the answer to your question is Yes and No. As long as "No+Name" was unique, having duplicate no OR name did not matter much. E.g. EIR had 5 Up Punjab Mail. GIP too had 5 Dn Punjab Mail. The GIP train was re-numbered as 37/38 north of Delhi to remove confusion as both no&name were duplicate.
