Harsh, this bridge will ultimately serve double line after the road-cum-rail bridge reaches end of its lifetime. Have a look at http://www.irfca.org/gallery/GeneralScenes/Godavari/newgodb4.jpg.html You will find that there is already ample space for a second line next to the present line. Only the platform needs to be demolished and rebuilt. Also there Godavari-Rajahmundry section is a double line.

I think the sign in Telugu says 'Itharulu loniki rakugadhu', meaning 'Others should not enter'.

What an elegant construction! I also like the way the clouds almost match the shape of the arches.

Godavari station is on which side of the bridge? The Rajahmundry side?

well is the red colour different from the usual LGD orange-red or is it due to the lighting ? looks like the colour is magenta

This is a truly beautiful photograph... With some people sitting on the river banks and the magnificient bridge in the background, it portrays a rural setting while showcasing the technological prowess of India.

Agreed!. That's a nice pic.. I still remember the down 6004 Mailto Hwh go slooowly over this bridge@20Kmph circa 1996, and the Corro to Mas would zip past the other road-cum-rail bridge
