YP 2834 at Miraj
South Central Railway metre gauge 4-6-2 YP 2834 blasts out of Miraj with Train 202, the morning Miraj to Bangalore passenger train, on 1978.12.18

YP2834 was less than ten years old at the time, being one of the second last batch of YP's to be constructed - Tata Engineering in 1969.

I recall seeing these steam beauties at Belgaum Steam Loco Shed with pictures of Elephants and Kangaroos’ depicted on them. And very interesting to see Miraj station layout unchanged and unfazed over so many years - the trademark ROB is evident!.

The SCR livery was my favorite. The narrow gauge lines to extreme right are of Barsi Light Railway. Any pictures of the F/G class beauties of BLR?
