A gooty wdm2c (baldie) 14042. This loco brought our train to Vasco. A small note
at bottom of drivers cabin says " Fitted with advance emergency brakes". All locos
having this 'note' are able to run through the steep Briganza ghats |
At vasco , I sent off my friend back to surathkal. I did the rest of the trip all
alone. |
Train 2779 Goa Express (Vasco-New Delhi) is being shunted into platform no.1 at vasco.
This is the most prestigious train originating from vasco. I will be travelling
by this train upto Pune. Note , the name board in the photo. Also a scenery of palm trees has been painted on it ! |
This is the loco of my train. Gooty baldie 14022 ,also equipped with advance emergency
brakes. |
Soon the 2779 is on its way to madgaon & thence to briganza ghats |
Again a good view of the Arabian sea near the velsao beach area. |
It is a great experience to zoom along the velsao beach at high speed. |
Another view from the door of my coach. |
It is a real rareity on Indian Railways to have a train running along a beach
! |
At madgaon , I clicked a photo of my hotel "Hill View" from my coach window. It is
barely visible , just behind the coconut trees . |
A curve on the way to Kulem |
Some excellent & peaceful scenery on the way to Briganza ghats. |
It is true to say that goa is the most beautiful state in India. You get to see a
wide range of terrain & vegetation ! |
Overtaking a goods train on the way to briganza ghats. |
Going through thick forests on the way to Kulem |
The train reaches Kulem stn. Two gooty baldies can be seen waiting in the adjacent track. It turned out that these were the banker locos for our 17 coach train. These locos were attached to the rear of our train within 5 minutes ! |
