Madgaon to Vasco-da-gama to Pune |
A 'spiritual' sunset at colva beach , signals the end of a fine day at Madgaon. |
Next day morning , I am greeted with clear skies & a great view from my hotel balcony
! The entire madgaon stn is in the background. I could even hear the public
address system ! |
I am all packed up & ready for my journey to vasco ! This is the MAO stn , main entrance. Note the unique sloping roofs. MAO is a divisional HQ of Konkan Railway. |
We are on our way to Vasco by the morning kulem-vasco passenger. Our gooty wdm2c
emits lot of smoke somewhere after Majorda. |
While heading towards vasco , the train goes along the scenic velsao beach for about
2kms. |
My friend at Vasco rly station. On the left is the rake of goa exp. It had arrived
from delhi just 2hrs before. Note , vasco is not a terminus stn , a line continues
into margao port 2kms away |
This is the view of morgao port from top of a hill. The port lies at the mouth of
morgao bay opening into the arabian sea. |
A view of an Indian Navy ship. There is a naval base nearby. In the horizon , you
can see dona paula. This bay is a 'U' shaped one. |
