This is at the Lingampalli (LPI) station on the outskirts of Hyderabad, one of the end points for the MMTS services. Great ambience.

Hi Shankar..This is the Gaunlet Track, that falls in the Ahmadpur JN - Katwa JN NG Line, and not the Shantipur line..Incidentally, this was my first trip with Samit..Nice Memories refreshed! Thanks

Abu Road locos ? I can spot LDH stencilled just below the headlamp..

Nice picture! Ugly or otherwise, this loco is a great workhorse. I've always wondered why most diesel locos in India don't have dual cabs?

This livery is so refreshing. Barbie doll colors!! Isn't it? :)

Thats just it, Jimmy. Its not the obvious kind of shot. Its the almost abstract portrayal of sheer power that makes this shot special. Everyone takes the obvious shots: a double header with a freight. But here, you barely see any of the train's surroundings. The almost total frame filling shot is so overbearing, the sheer power is driven home pretty hard, the might double header is almost on top of you. The missed timing, if at all that, adds a lot of value, and leaves a lot to the imagination. Thats why this shot made it to showcase. An obvious shot of a double headed train will leave nothing to the imagination, and is just plain dull.

This looks like a mistimed shot to me. Is it so special to find a place in Showcase?? Best of IR?? I don't think so. Naren has shot so many special pictures, real classics. Why did this one find a place in showcase?? Please don't misunderstand me!
