Since Karaikal was French territory, there must have been some station en route where border formalities were completed, similar to Castle Rock and Chinnababusamudram. Jimmy, I think the line closed down much later as I remember seeing in the TTs of the 70s. Today, it is being converted to BG with an extension to Nagore and Nagapattinam.
