The restored BNR Garratt #38811, on its maiden run between Shalimar & Mecheda. It was well turned out, and thankfully devoid of the usual complement of overpowering garlands. Mecheda Station, near Calcutta, 2006-11-17.
Orange livery? The one at NRM was green. Any idea what was the colour while in service.

Look at its size!! :-O I think the WAP-4s may have just lost their 'Monster' tag to this giant here.
BTW Samit, a 400D ... wow ... you didn't waste much time, huh ... ;-)
SER fed us a great lunch too :-) Unfortunately, with a huge lot of press-people and bystanders, getting a clean shot is difficult, further compounded by the catenary. Since I wa travelling in the train, a proper video was not possible. Took a short one ...
