ZDM4A 207 from Motibagh heads towards Nagpur with a passenger. Just look at the crowd. This has to be one of the most crowded NG systems around!. Takli (Nagpur - Saoner), November 2003. By Alok Patel.

Bagnall 5 does some huffing and puffing as it is prepared for a trial run between Nagpur and Itwari with three coaches before a Heritage run that was later delayed till December. Motibagh yard, Nagpur, August 2002. By Alok Patel.

One of my older NG photos. The tracks were rather ill maintained then. Maintenance has gone up substantially now and the tracks now sit in a sea of ballast. ZDM2 196 from Motibagh. Nagpur Station, December 2001. By Alok Patel.

The rear loco is dead but not defective. It is being taken by the Jabalpur Nagpur passenger towards Nainpur so that some other loco with overdue maintenance schedules can be freed up to go to Motibagh. I am told sometimes trains need the power of twin locos on the hilly stretch between Nagpur and Chinddwara. Ramakona, November 2003. By Alok Patel.

ng_covered_goods_wagon_ngp_station_board.jpg

A very rare occurence.Covered NG freight wagon is attached to the NG train towards Jabalpur. These wagons seem to have completely disappeared from NG lines now and lie rusting in Motibagh yard. Most of the freight on NG these days is carried in NG guard/parcel vans. A total of three trains are moving in or out of the yard in the pic! The others are TN Express and the Kurla Howrah Express. Nagpur, March 2002. By Alok Patel.

No, NG has not gone Air Braked. This is the NG Tourist train, The Royal Saloon, beginning its first and only run before getting stuck in a bureaucratic quagmire. The train was fully booked and did a 7 day run from Nagpur to Jabalpur and back with several sightseeing visits in between. Nagpur, 2002. By Alok Patel.
