Motipur Sugar Factory No. 3, an Indian State Railways E class 2-4-0 which later ran on the BB&CIR. The loco carries a Neilson & Co. plate from 1876 on one side and a Vulcan Foundry plate from 1877 on the other. Whichever is right it was one of the earliest Indian metre gauge engines. 2004-03-16.

No. 2, a Baldwin 4-6-0T ex-WD First World War loco - the last of its type still in India. Motipur is a sad place. The mill, formerly a family-run affair, was nationalised by the Bihar state government, run by a nationalist party, and promptly closed leaving most of the townspeople out of work. All attempts to get the mill reopened have come to nothing, but the former managers still man the premises and keep the equipment in order. 2004-03-16.

A side view of metre gauge 2-4-0 No. 3. There was originally a side window where the circular numberplate is. This is the last surviving E class engine in its original condition although there is one rebuilt as a saddle tank in the Railway Museum at Delhi. 2004-03-16.
