One of the 2-8-4T engines (called L-2 and formerly Y-2 class at GIPR) that worked as a banker on the GIPR ended up working at Hindalco Industries in Renukoot and was donated to National Rail Museum where it is presently kept.

One of the 2-8-4T engines (called L-2 and formerly Y-2 class at GIPR) that worked as a banker on the GIPR ended up working at Hindalco Industries in Renukoot and was donated to National Rail Museum where it is presently kept.
When I last visited Hindalco in 1997-98, they also had another ex GIPR banker engine, a Y-4 class 0-8-4T, kept on their industrial siding in immaculate condition.
