Great to see these locos after a long time. Best remembered for their melodious horns, hauling trains like the Mithila, Coalfield, Black Diamond, 49Up/50Dn..

Ah, the good 'ol WAM2. Priceless! I grew-up on these Bo-Bo locos. They lent so much character to the Grand Chord section. Will never forgot my first encounter with the orange-cream Asansol Exp. with matched-livery WAM2, at Howrah.

It is a WAM-2 made by Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Tohiba (HMT), It was based at Asansol. And I am certain, because this loco was regular with Udyan Abha Toofan Express.

A true gem indeed. Thanks for sharing. One small nitpick however: it is a WAG-2 and not a WAG-1. WAG-2, WAM-2 and YAM-1 all have similar body profile, though the YAM-1 is smaller.

Agreed! It deserves an FC status....

Gems from yesteryears! Can't they be moved to the "First Class" section?

Is this locomotive doing shunting duties here? For long WCG 1 were used here in Mumbai as shunters for passenger trains. Also, it seems WAM 2 is written on the loco. I maybe wrong, but thats what I can see written next to the road number at below the...
