Table 1 (NR) : Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad - from 1977 All-India TT. Gomti Exp. was a whopping 1 hr. 22 mts. faster between NDLS and CNB, with just one halt at Tundla. Jayanti Janata used to go via Allahabad-Varanasi. It is now the Vaishali Exp. The Assam Mail is extinct. The Upper India Exp. now goes between BSB and SDH. The Delhi-Varanasi Exp. is now the Farakka Exp. (Mani Vijay)

Tinsukia Mail is the predecessor of the Brahmaputra Mail. Can't remember when the renaming happened. Please do post scans from your TTs.

That will place Tinsukia mail close to Brahamputra mail, going by the last 2 digits and its route somewhat. I have laid my hands on some very old TTs as well as WTTs from 60s and 70s from the two DRM offices here of NER and NR. You people will see some ...

Just 2 years prior to this (1975), 156 Tinsukia Mail used to start from Delhi Jn. at 19.20 on Tues, Thu, Sat, and go via Patna - Kiul. 164 Tinsukia Mail used to leave Delhi Jn. at the same time on Mon, Fri and go via Gaya - Kiul.

Samar, Yes, the Lal Quila Exp is the present avataar of 11/12 Delhi - Howrah Express. 2 nights from DLI to HWH.

The Assam mail resembles the present NE express. There is no train close to Tinsukia mail though. What about this 11/12 DLI-HWH express, is the new Avtaar of it Lal Quila?
