Gems around Varanasi # 2 Plinthed GE WDS1 . This loco engaged in shunting service in 1976 but withdrawn from service and plinthed in 1978. Anyone knows why ?
As far as I'm aware and of what I recall, this class of loco was very much in service on WR (Bandra shed) all the way till the mid to late 80's. Also, I think this class entered service well before the 70's - JL Daboo's book should be able to confirm...
As far as I'm aware and of what I recall, this class of loco was very much in service on WR (Bandra shed) all the way till the mid to late 80's. Also, I think this class entered service well before the 70's - JL Daboo's book should be able to confirm that fact. Obviously DLW hasnt paid heed to what its original livery was - theyve simply gone and slapped on a run of the mill contemporary livery - a shame!
