Unidentified bridges 005. From information provided by Souroshanka Maji of IRFCA, this picture almost certainly shows Kolaghat bridge over the river Rupnarayan, about 55km from Howrah on the Howrah - Bombay trunk route. The picture is similar to those in various documents / pictures at the South Eastern Railway Library. However, this photograph was taken before the regirdering and retrussing of the original single track spans that happened sometime in 1935-36. The presence of the second track suggests that the picture was taken after the bridge was double tracked (23 March 1933). See also this photograph.
