A bird's eye view of Monkey Hill. Starting from left, the first line is the Dn line (going towards Lonavala), the second is the bi-directional Mid-line, the next two are the catch sidings for Mid line and Up line respectively and the rightmost line is the South East Diversion line, commonly known as the Nagnath line. The houses seen faraway on the left is Khandala and the horizontal line running below it is the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The small hill just to the right of the three lines is the actual 'Monkey Hill'. Photo by Karan Desai

Thanks for the info, but I was refering to the metal structure between the catch siding lines and the nagnath line. It looks like a booster transformer support.

Jainand - the new AC sub station is coming up on top of the Bheran Plateau. Roughly, this would mean that it is coming further up on the hill behind the photographer's back.

Is that a new AC OHE transformer support coming up between the Nagnath line and the catch siding lines?

Very nice atmospheric photo. Like the railway track structure & also the deep valley from the top.

Lovely photo and my current desktop background. It is near the small hill to the right where the following video was shot - http://www.vimeo.com/903887 .

To the left of the railway lines and to the right of the tower (faitly visible), is 'Duke's Nose' (the faintly visible mountain which looks like a portion has been cut out of it)
